FWFSA ENDORSES NEW PLI PRODUCT/ DISCOUNTS
FOR MEMBERS
The FWFSA is delighted
to endorse a new professional liability insurance/benefit program put
together by attorney Anthony Vergnetti, formerly
of the law firm, Shaw, Bransford, Veilleux & Roth.
The new product is entitled Federal Employee Defense Services (FEDS).
We believe the new plan provides superior benefits to federal wildland
firefighters as compared to the policies currently available on the market.
Further, the premium costs for FEDS is less than comparable policies
and are discounted further for FWFSA members.
Perhaps just as important as benefits and costs is the fact that our
endorsement is made based upon Mr. Vergnetti's efforts to represent federal
wildland firefighters involved in both Thirty Mile & Cramer. His
intimate knowledge of what wildland firefighters face coupled with the
personal endorsement of many of those same firefighters and others gives
him a superior advantage over other policy providers that do not have
such a working knowledge of the wildland firefighting community.
More information on FEDS can be obtained at their web site at www.fedsprotection.com or by calling toll free 866-955-FEDS (3337). Whether you have a current
policy or believe it is time you secure such professional liability insurance
protection, we encourage you to look into the benefits of FEDS.
The FWFSA has a limited number of FEDS brochures we can send to members.
Just ask. Additionally a brochure will be included in each new FWFSA
member package that goes out.
The FWFSA will have direct access to Mr. Vergnetti at all times. While
the additional discount for FWFSA may not be significant, it is on top
of an already less costly policy which provides superior benefits.
In the meantime please know we continue to work with federal land management
agencies, Congress and the Administration in rectifying the "unintended
consequences" brought about by PL 107-203 and to ensure that more
firefighters become eligible for reimbursement of policy premiums and
that the agencies pick up 100% of any policy premium as compared to the
50% currently allowed by law.
